On Sunday CLLSA runners took to the streets of London in the 2015 Vitality British 10k London Run. The fine summer weather held, feedback received so far; is that it was a great success and day out for our brave runners, their families and friends. Many achieved record times with CLLSA trustee Dr Samir Agrawal finishing in 50 minutes with CLLSA coordinator Sarah’s team and Jen and Tim’s team all finishing in 65 minutes. The information is still coming from all teams so the picture and information is not yet complete. But it seems that a considerable amount has been raised for CLLSA to support those affected by CLL.
Runners have put in a lot of effort and personal sacrifice to train and take part in this event. Please share our thanks and continue to support our brave runners. We will be updating soon with all individual & team times, fundraising totals and more pictures from the day. Below are the some of the updates we have so far:
Jen & Tim's team have raised £1,476.00
“When my gorgeous Ma was diagnosed with Chronic Lymphoctyic Leukaemia 2 years ago she spent more hours than usual on her iPad searching for information.
She stumbled across the CLLSA charity. This is the only UK charity which is specifically for people with CLL which is the most common type of Leukaemia in Adults.
Not content with having found this support she wanted to get involved and help others and after attending her first patient education day she was approached to join the Board of Trustees. Today she is the Vice Chair and actively involved in educational days and the day to day running of the charity.
Amongst other things, the CLLSA run regular meetings for members where they can hear guest speakers and meet other patients and carers to share advice and support each other.” http://www.cllsupport.org.uk/cllsa/members-meetings

“We did it! Thanks so much everyone for all your support. Even with a much smaller team this year and including Laurie's Belfast running donations of £151.20 we raised the whopping total of £1168.53 for CLLSA. A Big Thank You!”

Sarah has raised £400
“For the last 5 years I have worked with the CLLSA and have seen first-hand how this has helped their members to get the help and support they need. Amongst other things, the CLLSA run regular meetings for members where they can hear guest speakers and meet other patients and carers to share advice and support each other. This is the only UK charity which is specifically for people with CLL which is the most common type of Leukaemia in Adults.
All of the trustees of the charity have CLL or are carers to others with CLL. They all give their time for free to help other patients and carers. Please help me to raise as much money as I possibly can for the CLLSA.”
