CLLSA Calendar of
Events and Conferences
UK CLL Forum
Clinical Science Day, 23rd May 2007
Around 100
people attended this stimulating and scientifically challenging
meeting. Of the attendees there were about 8 patients (or
‘consumers’ as we are amusingly know by the pharmaceutical trade).
There was also a very well attended exhibition to coincide with the
conference with around 12 stands including one for the CLL Support
Association.
I could not do
the science justice by even trying to summarize the presentations.
However the UK CLL Forum are putting the presentations together and
onto their website at
http://www.ukcllforum.org/index.html
One amusing
anecdote was the presentation of Chris Fegan who pointed out how
politically incorrect CLL was it being:-
Ageist
Racist
Sexist
Nepotistic
And a self
harmer as well………….!!
One thing I
did take away very strongly from this very successful and well
attended conference was how much more research is going on into this
disease and how there is a new and very enthusiastic group of
doctors working on CLL.
You can find my
own presentation by following these links:-
